They are a global company with teams in Johannesburg, Lagos, Nairobi, and Amsterdam who provide logistical support, data, and market insights.How you'll roleAs the Group Accountant, you will be a key functional expert in the organisation and will be responsible for all finance and accounting activities.
This includes consolidating financial results, monthly forecasting, managing the annual operating plan, tax and accounting guidance, treasury management, and credit management as well as enforcing compliance with finance-related laws and procedures and regulations such as tax filing and financial reporting.
You will lead through influence and provide guidance, support, and assistance to the organisation.
The executive leadership team will rely on you to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the financials as well as speed and efficiency of data management, financial reporting, and continuous improvement in data analytics and reporting.Duties & ResponsibilitiesWhat you'll doManage 9 companies (most are small and only require VAT and basic requirements)Be responsible for income TAX, VAT, and CIPC submissions – good working knowledge of SARS Efiling and dealing with SARSUpdate bank accounts and process transactionsBe responsible for loan accounts and balance sheet reconciliationsBe responsible for interest, depreciation, and loan journalsBe responsible for group management accountsTake part in financial meetingsDo weekly payments to strict deadlines, manage banks, and manage payroll runBe responsible for ageing checks, audit preparations, B-BBEE preparations, and general adminDesired Experience & QualificationWhat you'll needRelevant degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance or Business AdministrationAt least 5 years' experience in a similar role (non-negotiable):Previous media experience, experience working with media buying, and media ownersConsideration will be given to a suitably experienced Financial Accountant to grow into the roleTo demonstrate the ability to deal with reasonably complex reconciliationsSAGE/Pastel knowledge – both payroll and accounting are an advantageMedia and production systems experience advantageousPackage & RemunerationR40,000 per month (negotiable based on experience)
