Graduate Intern: Tax And Regulatory

Job Advert Summary
Responsible for Vat calculations. month end income tax calculations, provisional tax, preparation of income tax returns, withholding taxes and preparation of regulatory reporting to the FCSA, PA, NAMFISA, ASISA, NAMFISA and the SARB.
Minimum Requirements
Education

Matric (Grade 12
B. Com (Honours)

Knowledge and Skills:

Knowledge of the insurance industry an advantage
Good accounting knowledge and proven track record
Excellent knowledge of Indirect Tax and Corporate Tax legislation (especially long-term insurance tax)
Understanding of deferred tax
Tax calculations and reconciliations exposure

Duties and Responsibilities
Taxation:

VAT calculations and submissions
Income tax, provisional tax, withholding tax, stamp duty and VAT calculations and submissions
Preparation of month end tax calculations
Ensure all relevant tax journals are processed.
Preparation of deferred tax calculations
Prepare monthly tax reconciliations
Attend to SARS and NAMRA queries.
Liaison with external auditors on all tax matters

Statutory reporting:

Preparation of all reporting templates to regulators to be reviewed as per PPS review delegations. These include Qualitative and Quantitative returns submitted
monthly, quarterly and annually
Liaison with external auditors on all matters relating to the statutory reporting.
Preparation of responses to all queries relating to returns from the regulators.
Interpretation of all numbers and other disclosures in the statutory reports
Providing input into the ORSA prepared by Group Risk
