Job Title: Commercial Manager
Red Ember is recruiting for a Commercial Manager who has experience in cruise or the travel industry.
Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years experience in commercial management including financial analysis preferably within the cruise or travel industry for a global or multinational corporation.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and prioritize tasks effectively.
Strategic thinker with a proactive and solution-oriented approach.
Excellent English communication and negotiation abilities (both written & verbal).
Familiarity with cruise industry regulations and practices is an advantage.
A strong work ethic with time management and prioritization skills to get the job done.
The ability to work well under pressure either independently or within a team environment.
Capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.
An inquisitive, analytical, and enquiring mind.
Advanced Excel skills.
Integrity, openness, and honesty.
The ability to travel globally if required.

Focus Areas:

Support the global DMCs and legal team in negotiating contracts with cruise lines to determine the best outcomes for the company.
Lead the project to consolidate contracts so there is one global contract/set of T&Cs for each cruise line.
Undertake financial analysis to help the relevant teams understand and improve the margins they generate and to determine what each contract is worth.
Collect, monitor, and study data (internal & external) to recommend appropriate actions where necessary, particularly in relation to pricing.
Support senior management and cruise operational teams on a wide range of issues including commercial agreements, risk management, contract administration, and accident/incident reports.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as finance, global cruise operations, and marketing to achieve business goals while mitigating legal and commercial risks.
Utilize data to develop and implement strategies to optimize best commercial outcomes to support business objectives for global cruise activities.
Stay updated on cruise industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to proactively address commercial challenges and opportunities.
Conduct research and analysis to produce market reports for the cruise teams as required, providing recommendations and solutions to commercial issues.
Build and maintain strong relationships with cruise industry partners and stakeholders.

Requirements:

Matric Certificate.
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Business Management or a related field.
