ROLE DETAILS Role overview:

Key Result Areas: Ability to teach Geography and Tourism for Grades 10 and 11 and other subjects where required.High academic standards to be achieved across all grades.Ensure quality delivery of the curriculum across the school grades.Implementation of the schools' Blended Learning Strategy within the classroom environment.Keep abreast of educational innovations in SA and globally.Teaching responsibilities: Be responsible for the preparation and compilation of a grade's work, the setting of tests and examinations within the framework of the planned programme for Grades 10 and 11.Set innovative tasks and alternative assessments.Have a good knowledge of, and experience in, teaching at Grades 10, 11 and 12.The ability to teach and work with mixed ability classes.Integrate technology in teaching and provide training to educators to upskill their digital literacy and teaching skills.Provide academic support to pupils within the department through extra lessons and tutorials.Involve the pupils in extension activities which build a love and greater appreciation for the subject.Ensure good relationships with all stakeholders, including: Establish and sustain effective, positive relationships with all staff, learners, parents/guardians, and the local community.Represent the school and Edinvest with high ethical standards.Reporting: Formal reporting line is to the Head of Humanities.Coordinates with all relevant staff to ensure alignment of systems and development of best academic practice across the school.Requirements: Skills, Qualifications and Experience required: An education-related Degree from a recognized tertiary institution, and preferably a PGCE.5+ years' experience in schools, preferably within the independent school sector.Highly computer literate.Proficient in the use of Google Classroom.Compliant with all regulatory requirements (e.g., SACE, clean record).IEB Experience.Involvement in the school's extra-mural timetable.Ability to lead and make decisions that are innovative.Ability to self-manage and manage risks responsibly.Strong relationship building and communications abilities.Management and implementation skills.Strong work ethic with the ability to take own initiative.Passion/Commitment.Team player.Conceptual, analytical and data skills.Solution orientated bias.Ability to perform under pressure and show tenacity.The appointment of candidates is at the sole discretion of Edinvest Schools who reserves the right not to make an appointment.
