ROLE PURPOSEThe summary of the role is to maintain the Clients Generator Fleet including:Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilitiesMechanical/electrical repair and maintenance with minimal supervision – hands on exposure to working on power generation productsIdentify safety risks, including completion of any required safety training and the SHE processesEffective utilization of diagnostic toolsMAIN OUTPUTSCompleting preventative maintenance and/or basic repair activities on generators or components at the customer site with minimal directionApplying the use of specialized tools and following documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete basic repairs, including preparing required parts and toolsEscalating unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and/or SupervisorPerforming preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on power generation products in the fieldCompleting required documentation, such as service worksheets, proof of work pictures, warranty claims via handwritten forms or business system input screensCompleting training in line with skill and business requirementsYou will be expected to adhere to all our relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and report any issues/incidents to their supervisorAbility to understand the relationships between GenSet components and inform more senior Field Service Technician as to which GenSet component may be causing the performance issueQUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS / KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / EXPERIENCEThe Applicant must meet the following requirements:Matric/Grade 12N3-6 Engineering Studies (Electrical/Mechanical)Technical diploma either from a Technical College/Trade School or through an accepted national apprenticeship programmeTrade Test – Mechanical and PartsValid SA Driver's License3-5 yrs. servicing, testing, installing, and troubleshooting industrial diesel generatorsPrevious Experience on Gen-Set system (would be advantageous)TECHNICAL / CORE COMPETENCIES:Maintenance skills as per SOWMedicals as per H&S requirementsHIRA (Fire & First Aid)Arc and O2 WeldingEffective utilization of diagnostic toolsCommunication and Leadership SkillsAdvance Driving skills4x4 Advance DrivingHIRA (Fire & First Aid)Advanced - medicals First Aid level 1 to 3Generator Deployment competencyFMS - Field Management SystemFUNDAMENTAL COMPETENCIESPassionateDecisivenessFlexibilityTeam Performance DrivenCustomer/Client FocusQuick ReactionSelf-Driven
