Are you an innovative engineer with a passion for sustainable farming? Our client is seeking a Farm Infrastructure & Sustainability Engineer to oversee the design, maintenance, and enhancement of all farm infrastructure while leading their sustainability initiatives. In this role, you will ensure that their farm operates efficiently, safely, and in an environmentally responsible manner.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee the maintenance and optimization of all farm infrastructure, including buildings, irrigation systems, drainage, and roads. Lead the implementation of sustainability strategies, focusing on water conservation, renewable energy, waste reduction, and soil health. Monitor and improve farm energy usage, identifying opportunities for renewable energy integration (solar, wind, etc.). Collaborate with farm management to develop long-term plans for infrastructure upgrades, sustainability goals, and environmental compliance. Conduct routine inspections and risk assessments of all farm systems to ensure operational safety and regulatory compliance. Manage budgets for infrastructure and sustainability projects, ensuring timely delivery and cost-efficiency. Stay updated on best practices in sustainable agriculture, farm infrastructure, and emerging technologies. Train and guide farm staff in sustainable practices, resource efficiency, and the proper use of infrastructure systems. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in managing infrastructure projects, preferably within an agricultural or rural environment. Strong knowledge of sustainability practices, renewable energy systems, and eco-friendly farming techniques. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Familiarity with CAD and other design software for infrastructure planning. Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work closely with diverse teams. Passion for innovation, sustainability, and improving farm efficiency.
