Previous experience having worked in a gm or a senior sales management role within the speciality polymers / engineering plastic raw materials manufacturing industry is preferred for the role. The successful candidate must be driven and strategic in terms of growing the market share being able to expand the business internationally and locally. The successful candidate must have excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills and have a high degree of professionalism and conduct at all times. The successful candidate will be responsible for: Managing and overseeing the operations as well as all the commercial, finance and growth opportunities for this speciality masterbatch, polymer additives and engineering plastic raw materials manufacturing company. Accountable for all day-to-day operations of the plant encompassing production, logistics, materials, equipment, machinery, infrastructure and staff. The role is key to operationalizing the company strategy and developing the companys footprint and ensuring financial profitability. Directing, managing and maintaining contact with both internal and external clients/customers. Working in collaboration with the commercial director, being accountable for creating techniques to attract prospective customers and grow the business. Working with the commercial team to identify and take advantage of new market opportunities, to help achieve short term targets as well as assist in the development of long-term plans. Working closely with commercial director and divisional leads to provide technical support when identifying and growing new customer base and responding to customer complaints. Assisting the MD and CFO with long-range operating goals, expansion efforts, and implementation of new and advanced technology. Overseeing the production manager to ensure processes and production planning is in place and set up and run to ensure maximum output and minimum waste. Ensuring the production manager is successfully managing volume, productivity increases, scrap reductions, internal and external quality controls. Implementing established practices to maximise quality, output and minimise waste/downtime and manufacturing cost. Evaluating machine resources to ensure continued production and minimize downtime. Working together with maintenance to achieve effective breakdown turnaround times and planned maintenance. Managing and overseeing all budgets relating to the site. Interpreting and analysing all accounting and financial data including reports, budgets, accounts and financial statements as required. Accountable for financial profitability of the site, formulating the operational budget to ensure that the strategic deliverables are adequately budgeted for whilst growing the site and improving the financial profitability. Taking an active role in developing world class manufacturing principles and assist with the implementation in designated team. Developing all team members through effective performance review and appraisals. Improving processes and policies in support of organizational goals.
