Our client is looking for an experienced and strategic General Manager to oversee all operations, financial performance, and staff development at their estate.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality, managing production processes, and driving profitability while fostering a positive work environment.
Responsibilities:Quality Management: Ensure that high-quality standards are maintained across all departments, from grape farming to wine production.
Identify and implement new processes and technologies to enhance quality.Production Management: Align production with market trends, improve staff productivity, and minimize production losses and wastage.
Oversee bottling controls and develop strategies to improve product quality and operational efficiency.Staff Management: Oversee the hiring, development, and performance of all staff in coordination with department heads and HR.
Ensure proper succession planning for key roles and maintain positive team morale.Cost and Procurement Management: Develop and implement strategies to increase profitability by managing costs and procurement, overseeing budgets, and ensuring financial transparency in collaboration with the Finance Manager.Maintenance Management: Ensure that all buildings, vehicles, and machinery are maintained according to company standards.
Monitor suppliers and contracts to ensure quality maintenance services.General Operations: Manage safety practices, emergency procedures, compliance with policies and regulations, and all contracts and agreements.
Actively contribute to the companys strategic direction and work closely with key stakeholders to optimize efficiencies and profitability.Brand Equity: Enhance the value of the brand by increasing recognition, customer loyalty, and satisfaction.
Build strategic growth in all market segments of the brand.Key Skills:Strong leadership and supervisory skills.Excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities.Strong organizational and communication skills.Ability to work effectively with people and manage teams.High ethical standards and trustworthiness.Expertise in applying technology and delivering results that meet expectations.5-8 years of experience at a General Management level, preferably within the wine, agriculture, or manufacturing industries.Qualifications:Bachelors Degree in Viticulture, Oenology, Management, or a related field.An MBA or equivalent qualification is an advantage.
