Vacancy: General Manager – Garden Route (Western Cape Region) A position for a General Manager (Garden Route) exists within the Western Cape Region reporting to the Regional Executive. The General Manager is responsible for overseeing daily business operations and ensuring compliance with contractual requirements while maintaining a professional working relationship with Executives, Regional Managers, Branch Managers, Staff, and Clients.
Experience, Requirements and Qualifications: PSIRA Grade A/B registration and AccreditationMatric certificate (Grade 12)No criminal record or any pending casesAt least 8-10 years' experience in the Operational Security industry.Computer literate and proficient in all Microsoft programs.Valid driver's license with own reliable transport.Knowledge of business processes, functions, and acumen.Good command of the English language, both written and verbal.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with people at all levels.Operational experience in numerous fields within the Security Industry, especially Guarding.Finance understanding and knowledge of Excel.Knowledge of ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management and requirements.Must have knowledge of:Labour Relations ActSectorial DeterminationBasic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA)PSIRAFAMSS.O. StandardsOccupational Health & SafetyFirearm Competency – Business Purpose.Should reside in the George Area or be willing to relocate.Job Description: Self-motivated and result-driven, ensuring good customer service, improving operational and administrative processes.Oversee all staff, budgets, and operations of the respective business area.Formulate overall strategy, manage people, and establish policies and procedures.Be a thoughtful leader, confident decision-maker, helping subordinates to develop and be productive.Research and identify growth opportunities to ensure growth and profit increase.Engage with current and potential clients to market and sell an end-to-end integrated solution.Develop and maintain operational strategy to ensure exceptional service levels to the client base, utilizing an agreed operational staff structure.Set and manage goals for new business.Financial management of the business.Ensure that feedback on projects is always provided to the Regional Executive.Oversee daily business operations and ensure compliance with contractual requirements.Develop, review, update, and implement business strategic planning, sales, financial performance, goals, objectives, and new development to improve business and profitability growth.Train lower-level managers and staff, ensuring subordinates are in line with company policies and procedures.Create and manage budgets, optimize expenses, improve revenue, identify and manage risks.Oversee recruitment and training of employees.Evaluate and improve performance and productivity.Evaluate and improve financial performance.Review and approve preparation of accounting analysis for budgetary planning and implementation, production efficiency, financial reporting, budgetary planning, and submittal for capital expenditures.Generate reports and give presentations.Coordinate divisional department activities.Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly reports for superiors.Consistently provide strong leadership to the business, management team, and employees by communicating vision, strategy, and direction.Ensure compliance with regulated legislation and acts.Prepare customer satisfaction reports.Ensure all clients are serviced as per contractual requirements.Maintain high-risk reporting for clients and ensure risks are fully identified with appropriate procedures in place to mitigate the risk.Develop and maintain training of subordinates through formal training and direct mentoring.Ensure all major special projects/events are organized.Provide feedback on MANCO requirements.Ensure staff are booked accordingly, lines are opened within 24 hours, and billing is raised.Complete fleet schedule, including technology installed and site deployed, asset management.Complete firearms schedule, including responsible managers and allocated staff utilizing firearms, asset management.Ensure all monthly reports are verified and signed off per division, with monthly feedback provided at MANCO, Executives, and COO.Competencies Required: Excellent presentation and communication skillsOutstanding organizational skillsNegotiation and conflict management skillsCustomer focus with continuous improvement skillsLeading and management competencies – Providing LeadershipInvestigating IssuesStrong analytical and critical thinking abilityProblem-solving aptitudePeople management skillsStructuring tasksPersuading and influencingCreating innovation and adjusting to changeBusiness acumenDeadline drivenDriving successShowing resilienceWe reserve the right not to make an appointment to any advertised position.
