Managerial duties include, but are not limited to leading the team, setting objectives, analysing performance, making decisions, stakeholder interactions and delivering on programmes of work.Lead and own the overall ESD strategy and framework with detailed plans for the different business.Develop a comprehensive strategy for the entity by collaborating with Director of Corporate Affairs, the board of the NPC and senior leadership.Facilitates the execution of the entity strategy by working collaboratively with the Head of Inclusive Justice, Head of Strategy Execution, and other senior members in the organisation ensuring that the strategy is understood.Displays and build required capability of effective SMME development to support identified Enterprise and Supplier development beneficiaries.Ensures that strategic actions are completed at various levels to achieve desired results in line with the NPC and Woolworths success indicators and impact metrics.Ensures that appropriate metrics are in place to measure performance and progress towards strategic goals, operational excellence, risk management, measure impact etc.Own the relationship with ESD beneficiaries and partner with business on their growth and sustainability.Partner with Head of Inclusive Justice and the business on future pipeline development where necessary.Provides recommendations for improvement, to ensure the capture of lessons learned and adapting approaches to measure progress.Ensure seamless execution of processes and removal of elements of manual intervention.Use project/programme management capability to implement the ESD Strategy driven by business requirements or envisaged by the function. This capability could be leveraged by the Community NPC.Design factors to consider in capacity building.Improve the quality of ESD beneficiaries as suppliers to Woolworths according to WW standards and decrease the cost of doing business.Ensure compliance to the B-BBEE Codes supporting Woolworths by participating in earmarking Enterprise and Supplier development.Insulate Woolworths and the NPC from the risk of SMME support through compliance and due diligence where necessary.Agree on funding processes and socialize partners and oversee effective Investment Committee processes.Receive and process funding applications.Develop strategy and guide the sourcing of 3rd party funds and manage budgets and funding mandates.Work with various specialist outsource partners including fund management entity to manage the loan and equity-funding programme.Oversee the management of supplier funding application, vetting to post-investment repayment collection and support.Conduct funding commercial analysis in line with board signed off metrics.Ensure governance, policies, procedures and practices are maintained and followed.Directs the development of policies and impact procedures.Leads and supports the application and implementation of new policies and procedures.Ensure governance, practices, procedures and principles are adhered to.Foster, engage and support ED/SD partners through their process of maturing their businesses.Manage monitoring and updates to principles and/or policy.Lead, develop and support the entity team.Develop and maintain talent, and resource plans that define the capability and capacity needed.Cultivate a collaborative, high-performance culture of delivery.Lead teams with authenticity to embrace continuous change, continuous learning, and strong connections across technology and business teams.Engage and form relations with selected industry specialists.Manage the financial health of the entity projects, aligned to the annual operational, capital and expense budgets and commitments.Plan, manage, forecast and administer budgets and funding.Financial acumen and technology insight to enable sound business decisions.Effective commercial negotiation of contracts of suppliers for solutions and services.Applies business acumen in evaluating work, costs and schedules of delivery.Minimum Requirements:12 years professional experience in strategic planning as well as 5 years' experience in management position.Sound understanding of SMME development.Proven ability in delivering results and meeting stakeholder expectations.Ability to work across a wide range of teams to ensure effective delivery of work streams.Experience in leading, developing and motivating cross-functional teams.Proven management experience, particularly influencing at senior level.ADDITIONAL CRITERIAExperienced professional, with a strong strategy formulation orientation, who has previously held operational roles in complex environments.Experience in dealing with senior stakeholders.Must be self-directed and work independently.Demonstrates skills in leadership, management and collaboration.Must be willing to challenge the standard thinking with new ideas, new approaches, and new solutions.Ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to assess business needs, design and implement relevant programs and evaluate results to achieve positive outcomes."As a proud South African brand, Woolworths is committed to transformation.
