My client is currently looking for an experienced Functions Manager to join their successful team. The ideal candidate would come from a hotel or events management background and be a core employee for this very busy, very demanding corporate client. You will have to take an active role in the service of the Meeting and Events Department to ensure guest satisfaction. Working hours are from 06:00 to 16:00 Monday to Friday, and when there are special events, you would have to be a lead of your team.Duties (not limited to):To liaise with all meeting and events coordinators to ensure that the events and functions run smoothly to the guest satisfaction.Attend daily and weekly operational meetings within the group.To ensure that the department as a function delivers the core standards of the group.To ensure that the Company's brand and service standards are adhered to at all times.To empower the team to handle all guest feedback, both positive and negative, and record accordingly.Actively consider prevention, recovery, and investigation of any complaints.To strive to anticipate customers' needs wherever possible and react to these to enhance customer satisfaction.To be fully conversant with facilities, services, and promotions offered by the group and pass this information on to guests whenever possible.To be aware and responsible for the security of the function venues and guests' property.To ensure that the team is punctual, polite, courteous, and helpful to guests and colleagues at all times.Ensure that the team is correctly uniformed in line with Company Standards and understands the importance of high personal hygiene standards.Ensure that company and legal standards for cleanliness are maintained within the department.To communicate and share knowledge with other hotel departments.Liase with Banqueting Chef and other Managers about preventative maintenance of the department and daily check-ins with your team regarding planning.To prepare, check, and monitor the departmental forecasts and rotas to ensure that they align with set budgets and meet service and business needs.Purchase/order departmental supplies, carry out monthly stock takes, and address discrepancies in line with company standards.Maintain financial awareness and understanding of how the role impacts the group's profit and loss account.Control departmental costs through correct storage and distribution of supplies.Understand the importance of adhering to company policy with reference to hazard spotting, first aid reporting, and reporting accidents.To assist in the activity of quality service.To attend meetings and carry out agreed actions.Meet all the necessary requirements listed in the job description.Are eligible to live and work in the country specified in the job description.
