Music Department Key Responsibilities: Accompaniment of our choir and ensembles, at school and on tours (national and international), to a professional standard. Performances often take place outside of working hours and over weekends.Competency in a variety of musical disciplines/genres, e.g. classical styles, contemporary/pop music, and/or jazz.Piano/keyboard accompaniment of music students during rehearsals, performances, recitals, examinations and competitions.Curriculum development and tuition of piano students (beginner to advanced) and preparing them for performances and examinations.Limited teaching of music (theory, history, performance practice, music industry related topics, music production, etc.), based on the needs of the music department and the competencies of the successful candidate.Management and upkeep of all pianos on campus, liaising with piano tuners and repairers.Management and updating of our music department's inventory of instruments and equipment.Limited administrative duties, as required within the department.Uphold and support the culture and ethos of our independent, faith-based, boarding school for boys.Requirements: Proven experience and competency as a piano accompanist for individual musicians, and in an ensemble setting, both at a professional level.Well-developed skills on (an) additional instrument(s) would be an advantage (teaching and/or performing).Relevant tertiary qualifications in the field of music.Competency in playing from sheet music is mandatory. Competency in sight-reading and transposition would be an advantage.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, teachers, and other musicians.A passion for music education and a commitment to fostering the musical growth of students.Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required for rehearsals, performances, and events.Knowledge and competency around music production and recordings would be an advantage.Proficiency as an organist would be an advantage but is not mandatory.Interested candidates must apply in writing to ****** with the job title "Full-time Accompanist" in the subject line.
