REQUIREMENTS:
As least three years' experience in a 5* Hotel in a similar position
Computer literate
Excellent interpersonal skills / public relations skills required
Committed to delivering a high level of customer service
Well presented and well spoken
Strong training, management and leadership skills
Able to work shifts
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Std. 10 (Grade 12)
Hotel Management Diploma or equivalent qualifications advantageous
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise accurate and efficient Reception operations including check in/out procedures.
Ensuring that Front Office policies and procedures regarding front desk procedures, handling incoming messages, mail, deliveries, packages etc. are strictly adhered to, and that the Front Office Staff is trained accordingly.
Understand and apply correct procedures regarding the acceptance of foreign currencies, credit cards and cash in accordance with the hotel's credit policy.
Dealing with all guest queries regarding bookings, in-house queries, payments and after departure services.
Ensure Team Members have current knowledge of all room categories, room rates, packages, promotions, local area and other general product knowledge necessary to perform their duties.
Drive sales revenues and promote hotel services and facilities for up-selling opportunities.
To make and manage reservations in the absence of the Reservations department and after hours.
Brief your team on any events or VIP guests in the hotel that day.
Carry out shift handovers and brief team members as required.
Maintain close communication within the department and with other departments to ensure the smooth running of the operation on a day-to-day basis.
Ensure the Front Office Manager is fully aware of any relevant feedback from Guests and/or other departments
Undertakes to drive the Front Office Upselling & Walk-in Conversion program.
Participates in the Health & Safety Committee as well as the daily management of this in the Front office department.
Assisting the Front Office Manager as required.
