Front Office Manager for a Boutique Hostel In Cape Town CBD
The ideal candidate MUST have previous management experience, reservations/bookings experience essential. Strong communicator, previous experience in a similar role will set you apart. Any experience with a hotel PMS systems such as Opera, Cloudbeds, GAAP, Micros is beneficial.
Leadership and Supervision:
Manage and train a team of receptionists, security guards, Duty Managers
Schedule staff shifts and handle HR-related tasks like leave requests
Motivate and support staff to provide excellent customer service
Customer Service and Operations:
Oversee guest reservations, check-ins, and check-outs
Address guest inquiries, complaints, and requests promptly
Ensure timely and accurate service delivery
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area
Administrative Duties:
Monitor office supplies and order replacements
Manage the front office budget
Maintain records of guest information and financial transactions
Prepare reports on customer feedback, bookings, and other metrics
Manage stocktake and rostering
Handle large group bookings with the reservations manager
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
Strong customer service orientation and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient in computer software relevant to the industry (e.g. cash register systems).
Working knowledge of property management systems (PMS).
