Forklift Mechanic

Position Overview:The primary responsibility of a Forklift Mechanic is to diagnose, service, and maintain mechanical lifting equipment, including powered and non-powered machinery. This role involves performing service calls, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs, ensuring that equipment operates safely and efficiently.Key Responsibilities:Equipment Maintenance and Repair:o Diagnose and repair issues in forklifts, lift trucks, pump jacks, and hydraulic systems.o Perform preventive maintenance, including lubrication, cleaning, and battery servicing.o Conduct repairs on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.o Disassemble and reassemble equipment as necessary for major repairs.Service Calls:o Respond to on-site service requests, both indoors and outdoors, in various environmental conditions.o Coordinate with warehouse and client personnel to diagnose and resolve equipment problems.Compliance and Safety:o Complete all safety checklists, required forms, and documentation.o Ensure adherence to company policies, safety regulations, and environmental standards.Inventory and Tools Management:o Maintain tools, shop supplies, and company-provided vehicles.o Manage company stock responsibly, ensuring accurate inventory records.Client Interaction:o Communicate effectively with clients to ensure satisfaction and build relationships.o Assist in sales and promotional activities when needed.Technical Proficiency:o Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and prints.o Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements.Required Skills and Qualifications:Proven experience with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.Ability to read and apply information from technical manuals and schematics.Proficiency with hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and computer-based systems.Valid driver's license.Ability to work flexible hours, including on-call availability for emergency service requests.Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and perform demanding tasks in various environments.Desired Attributes:• Team player with strong communication skills.• Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to excellence.• Self-motivated and able to work independently under minimal supervision.This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, servicing critical machinery and ensuring seamless operational efficiency for clients.
