Food Packaging & Labelling Specialist

Key Responsibilities:Regulatory Compliance:Stay up to date with regulatory requirements for packaging (R36Act)Interpret regulations and guidelines to ensure complianceCollaborate with regulatory affairs team to address packaging-related issuesPackaging Material Approval:Review and approve packaging materials (labels, inserts, cartons, etc.)Verify compliance with regulatory requirements and company standardsMaintain records of approved packaging materialsLabelling Compliance:Review and approve labelling content for accuracy and complianceEnsure labelling consistency across products and marketsCollaborate with marketing and regulatory teams to resolve labelling issuesPackaging Process Validation:Develop and implement packaging process validation protocolsConduct audits to ensure compliance with validated processesIdentify and address deviations or non-conformitiesArtwork Management:Coordinate artwork creation and approval for packaging materialsEnsure consistency in branding, design, and regulatory informationProduct Launch Support:Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure labelling and packaging compliance for new product launchesProvide expertise on labelling and packaging regulationsQuality Control:Conduct inspections of packaging materials and finished productsIdentify and address quality issues related to packagingCollaborate with quality control team to implement corrective actionsTraining and Documentation:Develop and maintain SOPs for packaging operationsProvide training to packaging staff on regulatory requirements and company policiesMaintain accurate records of training and documentationContinuous Improvement:Identify opportunities for process improvementsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to implement changesMonitor and measure effectiveness of changesSupply Chain Aspects:Research and evaluate new packaging suppliers to identify cost-saving and quality opportunities.Negotiate pricing for new and existing suppliersNegotiate MOQ's for new and existing productsMaintain product specification forms for new and existing productsMaintain inventory levels in line with business requirementsEnsure Syspro packaging master data is maintained accordingly
