JD Supply Chain is looking for an experienced Fleet Controller to join their dynamic team in the Rosslyn Distribution Centre. Job Purpose:Coordinate and execute fleet management practices, policies and procedures to provide a fleet of roadworthy vehicles to the Service CentreQualifications and Experience:MatricQualification in Logistics (added advantage)Computer literacy in MS Word and Excel4 + years' Experience in Transport2+ years' experience in vehicle tracking for a minimum of 15 vehiclesExtensive Knowledge of the Road Traffic ActKey Responsibilities:Manage the routing, scheduling, dispatching, monitoring and receiving of new vehicles according to operational requirements. Briefing all outgoing drivers before departure and ensuring that all correct documentations have been issued. Debriefing drivers after every trip and ensuring that all discrepancies have been reported and attended to. Communicating with drivers on a day to day basis.Monitor vehicle turnaround time at stops and report excessive standing time to the Outbound Manager.Completion of fleet recons 3 times a day. Ensuring that all trip documents like PODs, trip sheets, diesel slips etc. have been completed accurately and handed immediately after every trip.Ensuring that vehicles are using the designated route.Ensure that vehicles are available for loading and despatched on time.Daily fleet management. Pulling of reports on all the vehicles from tracking system; going through each vehicle report to see driving behaviour and usage.Ensuring optimal utilization of fleet and staff to meet operational targets. Ensuring fleet is maintained and in the required condition as per contractual agreement to operate/function optimally. Ensuring fleet operations administration is processed accurately and timeously. Analysing and reporting on daily speeding and idling reports and ensure the relevant corrective disciplinary action is taken. Liaise with the Fleet Manager on a daily basis to ensure breakdowns and accidents/incidents are attended to timeously in accordance with contractual agreement.Monitoring and arranging license renewals.Monitoring and arranging of services / Vehicle Repairs.Execute daily vehicle inspections to ensure high service levels are maintained and reinforce operational controls. Oversee the health and safety of all staff.Ensure fleet is in a roadworthy condition.Ensure diesel bowser levels are maintained at an optimal level.Monitor vehicle fuel consumption and report and investigate on any deviations.Effectively communicate fleet availability including empty vehicles on site, loaded vehicles despatched/on site and vehicles holding returns.Efficiently manage staff working hours, overtime, discipline, IR relations etc.#J-18808-Ljbffr
