Ensuring equipment operates efficiently and meets safety standards.Responsibilities will include but not limited to:Is responsible for safe maintenance and repair of equipment and machines in order to ensure the availability and reliability thereofIs responsible for engineering technical compliancePerform inspections and work in accordance with the Mine Standards and Procedures and the Mine Health and Safety Act and regulationsRecording of inspections, maintenance and repairs conducted to equipment on checklists and job cardsBe able to identify faults and repair defects without supervisionMaintain good housekeeping in the area of responsibilityEnsuring that all planning and productivity requirements are safely achievedUndertake appropriate Risk Assessments (RA) in order to perform in a safe and controlled mannerMust be prepared to work shifts, overtime and standby dutiesRequirements:Recognised Fitter Trade Test CertificateInternal Candidates:Grade 12 with Math (Not Literacy) & Science, minimum E symbol with relevant two N2 Trade related subjects as per MQA guideline or N2 with four relevant trade related subjects as per MQA guideline.
