ABOUT MAMATWAN The South Africa Manganese operation can be found in the manganese-rich Kalahari Basin, in the country's Northern Cape, which is home to 80 percent of the world's manganese. This position is based at our open-cut Mamatwan mine which started operating more than half a century ago. ABOUT THE ROLE: This role is a permanent full-time position. As a fitter, you will be responsible for timely installation, repair, and maintenance of equipment to ensure that mining activities are executed in a safe manner as well as operate equipment and test all working parts in the functional area to ensure proper utilization. Other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to: Complete hard copies of Job Cards and capture Job Cards on SAP.Provide input into maintenance Task Lists; report deviations observed during inspections to ensure proper planning prior to execution.Interpret and coordinate pre-work about repairs, planned, and predictive maintenance.Access any area safely to perform necessary maintenance on machines or equipment.Perform safety inspections of equipment and assess risks on equipment.Maintain a clean and safe worksite.Ensure the upkeep of maintenance tools and equipment.Coordinate activities associated with troubleshooting and repairing maintenance equipment. ABOUT YOU: You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: Must have a minimum of 3 years' experience as a qualified Fitter in a mining environment.In-depth knowledge of inspection & repairs of pumps.In-depth knowledge of the workings of Jaw and Cone Crushers.Experience in working on conveyor belts.In-depth knowledge of hydraulics and hydraulic systems. Qualifications for this role are: Grade 12 with mathematics.N2 technical certificate.Fitter trade.Valid driver's license.
