SENIOR UX DESIGNER WITH RESEARCH PLEASE NOTE: This is an initial 3-month contract role.
We are Foolproof, a product design specialist, working closely with Indigo Slate, a Seattle-based marketing powerhouse with deep expertise in marketing for technology brands. Both companies are owned by Zensar, a global technology provider. Regardless of the brand, each remains committed to the power of experience-led design, marketing, and engineering.
We are searching for a UX Designer who has a passion for creating digital products and services that create value for our clients and their customers. You are as passionate about creativity as you are about human-centered design and human outcomes. You advocate for the user, leveraging user insights to inform data-driven design decisions and product experiences for our clients and their customers. You create user-focused, elegant design solutions. You approach the work you do and the way you work with intelligence, imagination, drive, and humility.
Basic Requirements: You must be able to work from your local office (or local client office) at least twice a week.Based on our business strategy, client needs, and specific job roles, there may be a requirement to travel to client sites either domestically or internationally.The incumbent in this role will need to travel and work independently (i.e., conduct research, run client workshops) across Europe, Africa, Middle East, and Asia Pacific unaccompanied as necessary.Due to the consulting nature of our business, you must be willing to work on projects for clients across a wide range of industries.The role: As a key member of our team, you'll craft exceptional user experiences by exploring a wide range of creative ideas through low-fidelity prototypes and iterative, user-centered design methods. You'll guide your project team in uncovering innovative solutions, ensuring every step of the process is deeply rooted in understanding and addressing user needs. By structuring thoughtful research approaches and conducting thorough user research, you'll turn insights into actionable design recommendations that elevate the overall experience.
Collaboration is at the heart of what we do, and you'll play an integral role in co-creating solutions with multi-disciplinary product teams. Working closely with engineering and product management, you'll align your designs with user, business, and technology requirements. Your commitment to quality shines as you actively seek feedback, participate in critiques, and bring diverse perspectives into your work. Whether it's building new design systems for clients or refining existing ones, your expertise ensures our products not only meet but exceed expectations.
Key skills and experience: A product development or experience design background.A hybrid designer with particular strengths in UX and design research.Extensive experience designing user experiences, for B2B and B2C, taking projects from brief through to insight-led wireframes and prototypes that bring brands to life.A keenness to explore the problem space before interactively exploring solutions to meet those problems.Experience in directly planning and facilitating formative and evaluative research, as well as synthesis of data and reporting.This includes:One-to-one user interviews (remote and in-person)Moderated and unmoderated methodologiesUsability testingAccessibility auditsSurveysExperience working with partners to recruit research participants that meet the needs of the project and provide robust insights that help our clients make better product decisions.Strong presentation skills, comfortable iterating and presenting ideas, interactions, and flows with confidence, guiding project teams through your process.Comfortable working independently or collaboratively with designers, product managers, and engineers in an Agile environment to create great user experiences.Exposure to working directly with clients, understanding the needs of their business, their employees, and their customers.An understanding of technical platforms and how to get things built.A growth mindset, curious and eager to explore diverse ideas and learning, and seeking new opportunities and challenges.Our values: We aspire to the qualities of intelligence, drive, humility, and imagination; they define us as individuals, as teams, and as one business and move us from being good to great.
