We invite suitably qualified candidates to apply for the Senior Production Manager position under Manufacturing. The position will report to the Head of Production and is based in Dunnottar.
Job Purpose: The Senior Production Manager is responsible for overseeing all workshop operations, which includes deployment of APSYS principles to manage and drive defined KPI's based on Safety, Quality, Delivery and cost. Capacity/workload management – People development, Productivity, continuous improvement and management of assets.Key Responsibilities: Ensure that defined policies and standards are adhered to.Manage departmental work package and overall costs.Manage departmental KPIs in line with safety, quality, cost and delivery targets.Drive autonomous teams' work in order to comply with MPS.Define and implement corrective actions to address SQDC performance deviations.Identify critical manufacturing skills and manage succession plans to ensure the business has the key people for manufacturing areas to operate effectively.Drive the continuous improvement of results; communicate objectives, involve teams, implement actions, pull and implement improvement ideas, and problem solving groups (PDCA methodology), track improvement (visual management) and communicate results.Minimum Requirements: Leadership or Management Qualification.Minimum of 5 years in a management role and product knowledge.Desired Knowledge and Behavioural Competency: Must be able to lead and motivate over 100 people towards achieving a set of predefined goals.Must have extensive knowledge of labour-relations, policies and procedures in the South African labour context.Must be able to communicate effectively at different levels within the organisation.Must display high levels of integrity, ethics and morals standards.Must be extremely disciplined with strong business acumen.Must have a high regard for customer/supplier relationships.Must be experienced in Implementation of LEAN principles.Must have extensive experience in managing manufacturing processes.Must be able to manage conflict.Special Requirements: To carry out technical support and maintenance on a 24/7 shift & on-call basis (night, day, weekend).
