Job Description: Head of Business DevelopmentWe are looking for a Dynamic Driven leader, with a naturally persuasive, confident and assertive personality type, at least 10-15 years of successful experience in the Energy Services / Industrial Chemicals Industry – and extensive knowledge of B2B sales in utilities (Energy, Water or Waste) for Industry.
The position will report to the Group CEO – and will be required to manage, plan, control and direct activities of the BD Division – in line with the Company's Sales Strategy.
Summary of Role ResponsibilitiesFormulates the BD strategy in line with the Company's strategic goals.Lead the BD Division regarding all commercial & contractual matters.Actively promote the image & profile of the Company in a professional manner.Responsible for the tendering of large scale contracts (Municipal and Industrial).Presentation of tenders to customers.Assist with the conversion of leads / sales into contracts.Develop and maintain working relationships with clients and partners in a professional manner.Entertain prospective or existing customers within reason to promote sales / business growth according to strategies.Coordinate plant surveys (including managing Employee's compilation of necessary data to develop positive enquiry information).Attendance & participation in sales meetings, budget meetings and sales seminars.Daily & weekly reports.Obtain information about activities of similar organizations and report to management.Ensure continuous upskilling / knowledge of the BD Division on all products & technologies using assistance of internal personnel or approved external sources.Minimum Requirements & CompetenceIdeally: DEGREE in EngineeringAlternatively: B.Com Sales & Marketing / MBA.Ideally fluent in Afrikaans, English & other languages.Extensive knowledge B2B sales in utilities (Energy / Water / Waste) for Industry.10-15 years experience in Sales / BD of Industrial Chemicals and Energy Services / Projects.Must be flexible: The position will entail travel within reason to all areas of SA to visit customers, staying over for extended periods as necessary.Strong Financial Acumen.Sound understanding of Fundamental Contractual Issues.Resilient, persuasive, confident & assertive – yet a team player with Natural Leadership Capacity.
