2 days ago Be among the first 25 applicants Our client a well-established company within the maritime and logistics sector, is looking to appoint a Financial Manager who is proficient in financial management and up to date with the latest BBBEE and CIPC. The Financial Manager will be responsible for planning, implementing, managing, and running all the finance activities. This would include financial management, accounting, and accounting controls of the various entities within the company,Leadership, Direction & ManagementDuties Include But Are Not Limited To The Following:Provide leadership, direction, and management of the finance team.All operations matters, work as part of the Management Team to contribute financial and operational expertise in the development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies, practices, etc.Responsible for reviewing financial systems, internal controls and proceduresManage the processes for financial forecasting and budgetsTo interact with Managing Director by providing monthly financial reports and information to ensure sound financial governancePlanning and coordinating the external audit processSolution driven and have the ability to identify, develop & implement effective work processes, procedures and controls.Strategy:Provide strategic recommendations to the Managing Director and management teamDefine financial requirements against mandated goals and objectivesImprove operational systems, processes and policies - specifically, better management reporting, information flow and management, business process and organisational planningDevelop financial goals and objectives for the teamDevelop financial policies and proceduresReporting:Reporting to the Managing DirectorPrepare budgets where necessaryAnalyse and review monthly accountsEnsure timeous delivery of financial management accounts reportsOversee the preparation of all financial reportingEnsure workflows are correct and always updated by all team's memberFind efficiencies within the Finance team to make workflows easierEnsure all the financial department deliverables are met on timeMonitor the actual use of financial resources against the approved budgetProduce financial reporting that shows the organization's financial position, operating performance and cash flow over a period time through the use of financial statementsCreate management reports monthly that are relevant to decision making processesQualifications:Bachelor's degree in finance or accountingExperience And KnowledgeProven experience in a managerial and leadership roleSolid knowledge of financial processes, systems and related lawsProven leadership skills is essential (experience in managing a finance team)5 years post article experienceSkills And Attributes:Excellent computer skills (experience in Google drive, docs, sheets advantageous)Leadership skillsDynamic, energetic, drivenExcellent written and oral communication skills.Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills, plus excellent organisation skillsAbility to work and communicate with management dailyAble to identify system inefficiencies and propose solutions, working with the teams, and being a hands-on ManagerAttention to detailResilienceTechnical financial acumenA self-starter who shows initiative and can work independently to solve problems.Able to perform under pressureResponsible individuals who can commit to deadlines and will ensure that they are met.Specific Requirements:Solid and positive references, should the candidate be successful in the interview process, a reference from the current employer will need to be provided prior to finalisation of the employment contract.Clear credit recordNo criminal record Seniority levelSeniority level Mid-Senior level Employment typeEmployment type Contract Job functionJob function Finance and Sales Industries Staffing and Recruiting Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Red Rock Recruitment by 2xGet notified about new Finance Manager jobs in Wellington, Western Cape, South Africa.
