Financial Manager / Controller (Johannesburg) Renewable Energy

FINANCIAL CONTROLLER / MANAGER - RENEWABLE ENERGY
Our client has an exciting position available for a financial manager/controller in the Renewable Energy Sector, responsible for the financial management and accounting of the Group's companies. We have established a highly experienced, collaborative team and work environment.
The role is ideal for a qualified financial professional (CIMA, CFA, CA, etc.) with at least 3 years post-qualification experience as a financial manager or controller. Experience working within a group company structure or for a multinational would be advantageous. The ideal candidate has a burning ambition to build a career and expand their role within the business, as well as a passion for renewable energy. Financial modelling experience would be advantageous but is not a requirement.

Taking initiative and accountability as the owner and manager of the finance function for the business, reporting directly to executive management and the board of directors.
Managing an outsourced bookkeeping function.
Selecting, implementing, and managing accounting software (currently SAGE).
Financial planning and analysis of various companies.
Financial performance forecasting, budgeting, and setting up internal controls.
Managing intercompany cross-border transactions and loans.
Managing tax and VAT compliance.
Reporting to senior lenders under project finance facility agreements.
Preparing board packs and investor presentations.
Working with and managing external accountants and tax professionals.
Preparing monthly management accounts.
Managing company audits.
Responsible for reviewing financial statements.

Key requirements: CA (SA), CFA, CIMA or equivalent. 3 years post-qualification/articles experience. High competence in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, SAGE (or other accounting software). Strong English reading and writing skills. Highly organized and enjoys building structure. A self-starter with the ability to work without supervision. Salary will be market-related.
