Inventory Accountant

The purpose of the role will be to ensure the implementation and management of accounting controls for inventory (raw, packaging, spares and finished goods).
The successful incumbent will ensure accurate reporting, manage risks and assist in driving financial control.Duties will include, but will not be limited to:Prepare performance reportsAssist with biannual stock countsMonthly balance sheet reconciliationsAnalyse variances between sales and finished goodsPerform reconciliations between stock balance vs stock on handFollow up regarding integration of entries; ensure no errors in transactionsAnalyse variancesReview and analyse resultsReview work in progress and open stock processesProvide feedback on risksProcess month-end journals, follow up on inventory account entries processed, and ensure that provisions are releasedMonthly stock provision calculationsAssist with support from distribution agent relating to stock queriesEducation:BCom Degree in Finance or Accounting fieldSkills & Experience:2 to 4 years' experience in an inventory accounting position is essentialFMCG / Packaging / Pharma industry experience is essentialStrong inventory management, accounting, analysis and forecasting experience essentialSAP working knowledgeStrong Microsoft Excel skillsStrong communication skillsAnalytical skillsAbility to work in a highly pressured and fast paced environmentApply now!
