Our client, an established mining company in Mpumalanga, is seeking the expertise of a Financial Superintendent. As the Financial Superintendent, you will play a key role in leading and overseeing the financial operations and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.You will be responsible for managing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and providing financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate financial information to stakeholders.ResponsibilitiesAccounting to trial balance – full function.Preparation and posting of all journals in the financial system.Manage & control the financial month-end closing process and all that it entails.Budget development and control.Manage Finance department personnel (supervision, discipline and training), including development and roll out of KPI process.Manage Mine insurance profile.Approve creditors and monthly GL recons.Control of any major capital projects, such as new shafts, etc.Ensure an asset register is maintained to accurately record and control the assets of the Mine.Monitor and control capital to ensure the correctness of cost allocation as well as ensuring that expenses are as per the required approval.Ensure correct allocation of costs via the general ledger, make/clear provisions.Effect certain contract payments in terms of the contract specifications.Complete the monthly statutory reports such as VAT201, EMP201 and DMR128 reports and submit them to SARS & the DMR on time, as a legal requirement.Perform all bank entries and bank reconciliations for various bank accounts.Assist with roll out of new Financial system and ensure Finance personnel complies with roll out process.Prepare monthly invoices and credit notes to inter-company entities and customers, after proper checking and reconciliations have been performed.Act on behalf of Financial Manager when required.Any ad hoc tasks requested by the Financial Manager, Mine General Manager or Menar Senior Management.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.Completed articles.4-6 years related working experience.Computer literacy (Advanced knowledge of MS packages).
