What is the role about?
We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to provide oversight of the financial health of an organization. Responsible for the financial planning, reporting, and analysis across all global operations of the organization. This includes ensuring compliance with international accounting standards, evaluating foreign exchange risks, developing financial models to support strategic planning, and leading the budgeting process. The role requires a strong understanding of international finance and accounting principles.
As the Finance Manager you will be a pivotal member of the VirtualResource team, focussing and assisting the Global Shared Services Department on:

Develop and manage financial plans, forecasts, and budgets
Conduct financial analysis to provide financial insights to support strategic decisions and identify areas for cost reduction or revenue enhancement
Monitor financial performance and create reports on financial performance, trends, and forecasts
Oversee the budgeting process, including coordination with various departments to prepare and consolidate budgets
Monitor expenditures and financial performance against the budget to ensure adherence
Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
Ensure compliance with global regulatory requirements and accounting standards
Manage the company's cash flow to ensure there are sufficient funds available for operational needs and investments
Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable to maintain liquidity
Evaluate investment opportunities and make recommendations based on financial analysis
Monitor and manage investment portfolios, ensuring they align with the company's strategic goals
Identify financial risks and implement strategies to mitigate them
Develop and maintain internal controls and procedures to safeguard the company's assets
Lead and develop the finance team, including hiring, training, and performance management
Work with senior management to develop and implement global financial strategies that support the company's goals
Coordinate with external auditors during the audit process
Analyze cost structures and implement cost control measures
Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost savings

Job requirements
What skills are we looking for?
Our roles are remotely based (even pre-Covid), meaning you will be working from your home office, connecting with your client and team on a daily basis.
To be successful in this type of environment, you will need to have the ability to communicate effectively (in English) with cross-functional teams, explain complex concepts in easy, understandable terms, and proactively drive process improvements. You will need to be comfortable with video calls and be proactive in keeping communication channels open with your team.
Must have Skills Required
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (must have)
Professional certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CMA (Certified Management Accountant), or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) are often preferred
Several years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related field, with progressively increasing responsibilities
Experience in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and financial reporting is crucial
Minimum of 5 years' experience in leading and developing a finance team

Other Qualifications/Skills that will be beneficial but not mandatory
Technical Skills

Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, financial modelling software, spreadsheets)
Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and financial analysis techniques

Analytical Skills

Ability to analyze complex financial data and make informed decisions
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Strategic Thinking

Ability to align financial strategies with overall business goals and objectives
Experience in strategic planning and execution

As this is a remote role, you can be based anywhere in South Africa, so long as you are authorised to work in South Africa without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
