Field Safety Specialist - Lead

Field Safety Specialist Lead coordinates and participates in the investigation of incidents, accidents and near misses, audit and conduct regulatory reviews on risk assessment. The Field Safety Specialist Lead monitors the implementation of safe work procedures and maintains and updates all relevant information to the Safety Department. The position reports to the Director of Safety and Supervisor to ensure that Feeney Brothers' employees and subcontractors comply with requirement of legislation by monitoring site compliance.

Responsibilities: Conduct site safety, health, environment and quality auditsInspect site activities for safety complianceManage on-site corrective actionsShare findings with supervision for follow upIntervene at-risk activitiesProvide on-site review and training if neededProvide consultation as neededAssist with incident reporting and root cause initiatives (injury/illness, property damage, etc.)Assist with reporting processCollect and verify incident reportsAssist with the IA process and reportEducate and develop a driving culture that encourages See Something Say Something conduct site safety and strives to inspect site activities for safety compliance.Emphasize and reinforce the Company's Zero Incident culture to all employees.Communicate the directives of Feeney Brothers Excavation, LLC. policies and procedures with goal of reduced accidents and injuries.Lead, coordinate and review the department programs and policies.Assist in internal DOT and SMS compliance audits; prepares reports of findings with recommendations for corrective action.Lead and promote safety, attend safety meetings, and strictly observe safety rules.Provide safety training on company procedures and regulatory complianceActively participate in self-development and growthQualifications: 4-5+ years' experience in relevant safety fieldExperience in Utility Construction – Gas, Water, Electricity, Heavy Industrial, Utility Construction or Communications (Preferred)Proficient in Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, and PowerPointValid unrestricted Driver's License with a clean driving recordPossess OSHA 30-hour Construction Standards (Preferred)1926 and General Industry CFR 1910First aid/CPR/AED certified (Preferred)OSHA 500 Authorized Outreach Trainer (Preferred)Education/Experience Requirements: Working knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards CFR1926 and DOT requirementsFamiliarity with ANSI, ASTM, NIOSH, CDC, NFPAReq Number SAF-24-00007
