Field Agronomist - Macadamia

Minimum requirements for the role:Must have a BSc (Agric) degree or equivalent in plant production, soil science, or biological pest controlMinimum 2 years work experience in similar role will be requiredProficiency in sustainable farming practices, crop management, soil science, agriculture, irrigation, and plant nutrition is essentialMust have knowledge of the key differences, requirements and specifications of permanent and seasoned cropsExperience in conducting research and analysis in the field of agronomy with good report writing and presentation skills are importantMust have a valid drivers license, own suitable vehicle and be willing to travel within the assigned regionThe successful candidate will be responsible for:Performing various day-to-day tasks related to soil science, agriculture, irrigation, plant nutrition, and research.Implementing and managing agronomic practices.Conducting research and analysis, providing recommendations for soil and crop management, and collaborating with other team members.Performing soil and nutrient management on row crop and orchard farms, as well as crop protection in orchard crops.Conducting farm visits throughout the season and assisting with fertilization and lime programs in the winter.Developing own work schedules and fulfilling all the expected roles independently.Please note that subsequent to the screening and shortlisting process, all further communication will be entered into, only with the shortlisted candidates
