Factory Production Manager (Fabrication)

This position calls for an individual who has initiative and drive and can work under the pressure of handling several major fabrication projects simultaneously. A hands-on approach is required across all disciplines in Production Management in an Industrial/Fabrication setting. Requirements:Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or Production or Operations Management or similar equivalent.Sound Technical/Engineering/Steel fabrication background and drawing interpretation10 + Years experience in a Fabrication or Engineering environment.5 + Years experience in a supervisory capacity in a "Jobbing Shop" type steel fabrication environment with a solid track record in people management.Sound knowledge of Production Planning and Scheduling of ResourcesAdvanced computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite)ERP systems (e.g. Syspro or SAP)Conflict handlingConfident and experienced engagement with Union shop stewards.Project Management basicsProposals and estimating basicsGood administrative and communication skills Key Responsibilities and Tasks:Planning, organising and controlling production processesManaging project and fabrication shops resource requirementsPreparation and control of shop budgets.Adherence to the Integrated Management Systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001)Motivate, develop and coach factory supervisory teamEnsure adherence to company and customer policies and procedures
