Role Summary
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Operations Manager to join our textiles manufacturing company. The Factory Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the wool processing plant. This role ensures that production runs efficiently, safely, and meets the company's quality standards. The manager will lead a team, manage resources, and coordinate with various departments to achieve optimal productivity and continuous improvement. Qualifications
Degree or Diploma in Manufacturing or related field
Specific qualification in textiles manufacturing will be a distinct advantage
Work Experience
Knowledge of health and safety regulations and a firm commitment to maintaining a safe working environment
Strong analytical skills to assess production data, identify trends and implement corrective action
Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire multidisciplinary teams towards achieving departmental goals
Ability to provide management with high-quality analysis on all aspects of the department
Key Responsibilities
Lead and supervise the production team to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production targets while maintaining the highest standards of quality.
Manage and maintain accurate production planning schedules to ensure supply of raw materials and other inputs into the production process, so that the factory continues to run at full capacity without unnecessary downtime.
Monitor and analyse production metrics, such as productivity, efficiency, and waste reduction, and take appropriate actions to improve performance.
Implement and maintain rigorous quality control processes to ensure the highest standards of wool processing.
Review and improve processes to reduce waste and enhance product quality.
Oversee raw material inventory levels to ensure adequate supply for production.
Maximise the performance levels of all production staff through the implementation of individual and team KPIs, training, mentoring, and coaching, and provide constructive feedback to foster their professional growth.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies to create a safe working environment for all employees.
Identify opportunities for improving and streamlining process improvements, cost reductions, and quality enhancement, and implement them successfully in operations.
Maintain up-to-date metrics of all aspects of the Production department, and provide accurate production reports to management when required.
Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and best practices to drive innovation and maintain the company's competitive edge.
