Key Responsibilities:Sourcing new fabrications.Purchasing and allocating of fabric (local and import)Ensuring fabric purchased on time according to retail requirements.Issuing and following up on purchase ordersFollow up on all administrative functions pertaining to the procurement processHave up to date knowledge on the latest fabric developments and trendsEstablish and maintain key relationships with fabric agents and millsNegotiate best prices and delivery dates with suppliersManage stock fabric utilisation in line with stock targetsCompiling and maintaining up to date stock booksQualifications and Experience:A relevant tertiary qualification (preferably Design/Clothing Production/Fabric technology) and /orA minimum of 3 – 5 years' experience in a similar role and similar environmentSkills:Extensive fabric knowledgeKnowledge of a PLM system would be advantageousKnowledge of garment constructionBehaviours:Builds Networks - establishes and nurtures internal and external relationships in order to create robust, and mutually beneficial, partnershipsCollaborates - effectively works with others to achieve shared goalsCommunicates Effectively - conveys information and communicates ideas in a clear, concise and impactful mannerCustomer Focus - understands, anticipates, and meets the needs and expectations of customersEnsures Accountability - takes accountability and ensures others are held to account on agreed upon performance targetsManages Complexity - interprets and simplifies complex and contradictory information when resolving organisational problemsPersuades - effectively influences others by gaining support and commitment in the delivery of organisational goals and objectivesPlans and Aligns - develops plans and prioritises initiatives that align to the organisational goals and objectivesPreference will be given, but not limited to candidates from designated groups in terms of the Employment Equity Act.
