The Camp Executive Housekeeper is responsible for overseeing the housekeeping department, ensuring that all guest accommodations and public areas meet the lodge's 5-star standards of cleanliness, comfort, and aesthetic presentation.
The role includes managing a team of housekeepers, coordinating cleaning schedules, and maintaining the highest levels of hygiene and service delivery.
The Executive Housekeeper will also ensure that the lodge offers a luxury experience that reflects its brand values, focusing on guest satisfaction and comfort.
Key Responsibilities: Housekeeping Operations : Oversee and manage all aspects of housekeeping within guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas.
Develop and maintain detailed cleaning schedules, ensuring that rooms and common areas are impeccably clean and well-presented at all times.
Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, staff quarters, and public areas to ensure 5-star standards are consistently met.
Team Leadership : Supervise, train, and motivate the housekeeping team, including room attendants, laundry staff, and other cleaning personnel.
Plan staff work schedules and ensure that all duties are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
Provide ongoing training for housekeeping staff on cleaning techniques, use of equipment, and maintaining high standards of service.
Inventory & Supplies Management : Monitor and manage inventory of cleaning supplies, guest amenities, and linens.
Place orders for housekeeping supplies and ensure stock levels are maintained without overstocking.
Ensure proper care and maintenance of all housekeeping equipment.
Guest Services & Satisfaction : Ensure that guest rooms are cleaned and prepared according to specific guest preferences, including any special requests such as turndown service or personalized touches.
Handle guest feedback and requests with professionalism, ensuring quick resolution of any housekeeping-related issues.
Work closely with other departments (front office, maintenance, etc.)
to ensure a seamless guest experience.
Quality Assurance & Standards : Uphold the lodge's luxury brand standards by ensuring attention to detail in cleanliness, aesthetics, and room presentation.
Implement and maintain high levels of health and safety protocols, including sanitation standards in line with local regulations and lodge policy.
Collaboration & Communication : Work closely with the General Manager and other department heads to ensure smooth daily operations.
Attend regular meetings with the management team to discuss guest feedback, housekeeping performance, and continuous improvements.
Laundry & Linen Management : Ensure the proper functioning of the laundry department, including the quality of linen, guest clothing care, and laundry equipment.
Supervise linen inventory and maintain optimal stock levels, ensuring that all linens are fresh and in excellent condition.
Budgeting & Cost Control : Assist with the preparation of the housekeeping budget and ensure cost-effective management of resources.
Monitor expenditures and ensure that all housekeeping operations stay within the allocated budget.
Proven experience as an Executive Housekeeper or Housekeeping Manager in a 5-star hotel, resort, or luxury game lodge.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
In-depth knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
Understanding of health and safety regulations related to housekeeping.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Ability to work in a remote location and adapt to a lodge environment.
Good problem-solving abilities and guest-focused attitude.
Additional Skills: Ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of sustainable cleaning practices and eco-friendly materials.
Strong guest service orientation and an understanding of luxury service standards.
Proficiency in housekeeping management software is an advantage.
