Career Growth Hospitality Recruitment is on the look for an experienced Executive Housekeeper to join the team at a prestigious 5-star hotel in Cape Town. As the Executive Housekeeper you will lead and manage all housekeeping operations to ensure the highest level of cleanliness and guest satisfaction. You will be responsible for maintaining exceptional standards across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces, while managing a team of dedicated housekeeping staff. The role involves a hands-on approach to maintaining the hotel's reputation for luxury, ensuring guest comfort, and overseeing cost control within the department.
Responsibilities:
Oversee daily housekeeping operations, ensuring all areas of the hotel meet 5-star luxury standards.
Coordinate cleaning schedules for guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas, ensuring timely and high-quality service.
Conduct regular inspections to ensure rooms and public spaces are maintained to the highest standards.
Work closely with other departments to meet guest expectations and resolve issues swiftly.
Recruit, train, and develop housekeeping staff, ensuring team members have the skills and motivation to deliver exceptional service.
Monitor performance and provide ongoing coaching, ensuring all team members uphold hotel standards.
Manage staffing levels based on occupancy, special events, and seasonal trends, ensuring optimal workforce efficiency.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Prepare and manage the housekeeping department's budget, controlling expenses such as linen, cleaning supplies, and labour.
Monitor and optimize inventory levels of cleaning supplies, linen, and guest amenities, ensuring stock availability without waste.
Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising service quality.
Respond to guest feedback regarding housekeeping services, promptly addressing any concerns to ensure guest satisfaction.
Uphold hotel policies and procedures, ensuring that health and safety, hygiene, and environmental standards are consistently met.
Develop and implement systems for continuous improvement of cleanliness standards and service delivery.
Stay informed of industry trends and innovations in housekeeping practices and technology, incorporating best practices to improve efficiency and service.
Ensure compliance with local health, safety, and hygiene regulations, conducting regular training and audits to maintain a safe working environment for staff and guests.
Oversee the proper handling, storage, and disposal of cleaning chemicals in accordance with hotel policies and regulatory standards.
Requirements:
Extensive experience in a housekeeping management role, preferably in a luxury or 5-star hotel environment.
Tertiary qualification in Hospitality Management or a related field is preferred.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage a diverse team.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
High attention to detail and a passion for maintaining the highest cleanliness standards.
Strong financial acumen, with experience managing departmental budgets and controlling expenses.
Proficiency in housekeeping management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
