Experience within the electrical or construction field is an added advantage.Formal Education and Qualifications (Minimum Requirements):MatricBachelor's degree within Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related fieldsMust be computer literate and proficient on Microsoft softwarePractical experience and knowledge of SANS Code of Conduct and SABS Standards or relevant codes of practiceOwn transport is mandatoryInherent Requirements and Skills Applicable to this Vacancy:Excellent communication and reporting skillsAbility to liaise effectively and competently with electrical, structural and consulting engineers, architects and mining professionalsFamiliarity with SANS Code of Conduct and SABS standards and other relevant codes of practiceExcellent record keeping skillsAbility to multitask the quoting of multiple projects and tendersStrong technical backgroundGood problem-solving skillsProficiency in mathematicsReliable and dependableAttention to accuracy and detailAnalytical and logicalEthical and trustworthyComputer literacyExcellent planning skillsResponsibilities:Measure and design Lightning Protection Systems for houses, buildings and solar panelsEstimate the quantity of material needed to install Lightning Protection Systems for houses, buildings and solar panelsPreparation of enquiry or tender documentation in line with health and safety requirementsPreparation of quotations and bill of quantityPreparation of technical reports with the quotation when requiredLiaising with different departments for projects received regarding quantities and preparations of design drawingsReview and comprehension of technical documentsResearch and create cost models with accurate financial quotationsEstimate quantities based on architectural drawings, site reports and Google EarthProficiency in designing, installing and maintaining lightning protection systems, including understanding the principles of risk management as outlined by SANS 62305Review updated plans and specifications to ensure accurate estimatesPrepare clear and concise written proposals for potential customersMaintain accurate records of project detailsQuantity surveying duties as requiredShortlisted candidates will be expected to undergo psychometric testing and background screening.
