Estimator to assist the Drawing Office Manager with quoting and estimating qualifications.QualificationsMatricMDDOP (N5) Certificate or equivalent preferred.Requirements2 years or more relevant experience in a similar role or previous draughtsperson role.Strong understanding of cost estimation and quotation processes.Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor or equivalent required.Ability to interpret technical drawings required.DutiesIdentify if the enquiry is for an existing or new product and check product details on Synchro if applicable.Review product viability by assessing drawings received for new products.Log RFQ on records.Attain weight calculations from the drawing office.Determine pattern times/machines via pattern shop.Identify w/o items and cost (supplier quotes).Refer any queries to the sales team if applicable.Request shipping quotes from agents.Request machining quotations from machine shops.Prepare cost sheets for all of the above.Prepare and submit quotations to the salesperson or directly to the customer.Save received drawings on the register and liaise with the drawing office manager if revision notifications are applicable.Identify if the order is for a new or existing product and update records if necessary.Check and update drawing revisions.Create/link w/o items as products and standards.Confirm moulding line and quantities.Check weight calculations and update if necessary.Verify and add customer requirements (QA, packing, painting, etc.).Distribute the customer QCP requirements internally.Update quote records for received POs.Update OEM records if applicable.Prepare stencilling requirements.
