Equipment Fleet And Machinery Operations Manager

Our client, a leading multinational and multifaceted manufacturing company, focused on emulsions, binders and micro surfacing products, seeks to employ a diverse, high energy and professional manager, as part of their succession plan, to take over manage factory machinery, fleet, specialized plant (site/ operational project) equipment across plants in South Africa and East Africa.
Please note that this is a highly specialised role and will suit a candidate who has managed plant equipment used on construction sites and production equipment in a factory environment. In addition, we do require a candidate who is able to travel extensively in SA, as well as into Africa and who has exceptional leadership experience.
KEY REQUIREMENTS TO MEET FOR CONSIDERATION:

You will have completed a Mechanical Engineering qualification, coupled with a minimum of 10 years experience in managing company assets such as production machinery, fleet vehicles and plant/construction equipment, with preference to spraying and road surfacing or road construction equipment.
You will have proven expertise in ensuring the full and effective optimization of both plant and factory equipment, as well as specialised fleet vehicles and transportation vehicles.
You will have a strong background in managing a diverse team, based at multiple plants, to ensure production costs are kept at a reasonable level, ensure effective maintenance schedules and drive improvements and modifications to equipment and production machinery.
You will have experience in fully managing a fleet, to include compliance in respect to Hazchem legislation, maintenance, insurances and environmental legislation in terms of waste, spillages and storage.
You will have a solid track record in terms of people management and development, providing technical support to the teams and maintain meticulous staffing and performance records.
A sound understanding of HSE, Quality, Budget Management and Departmental reporting is essential.
You must have a valid driver's licence, own car and a clear criminal and credit record.
