Environmental Officer - Durban

Introduction
Our client is a nationwide hazardous waste management and environmental remediation company, who is seeking an Environmental Officer in Durban, KZN.
Duties & Responsibilities

Ensure company complies with relevant environmental legislation
Management of environmental emergency incidents
Management of historical contamination
Management of uncontained spillages
Providing internal environmental guidance and recommendations
Conduct site visits, collecting data to establish a baseline condition for levels of pollution or contamination for a site or areas of consideration
Technical Report preparation
Communicating with clients, regulators, and sub-contractors
Adhoc duties

Desired Experience & Qualification

Experience with Environmental/Contamination Site assessments
Environmental Science/Geohydrology/Geology degree
Skilled in Microsoft Excel, Word and SharePoint
Own Vehicle
Detailed experience and knowledge of the relevant Acts is beneficial:

National Environmental Management Act (Act No. 107 of 1998)
National Environmental Management: Waste Act (Act No. 59 of 2008)
National Water Act (Act No. 36 of 1998)


Package & Remuneration

Fixed term contract
Location of Office: Durban
Hours: 07h30 to 16h30, Monday to Friday and one Saturday per month
