Enrolled Nurse Specialist | Day Theatre

A vacancy exists for an Enrolled Nurse Specialist based at Life Entabeni Hospital, reporting to Unit Manager. The purpose of this role is to conduct nursing activities to ensure quality patient care.
Critical OutputsConduct duties to meet the requirements of quality patient care, ensuring that all nursing activities carried out comply with SANC regulations, relevant legislations and Life Healthcare policies and procedures.Maintain all health, safety and infection control standards to ensure a safe patient environment.Effective utilization of resources.Effective maintenance of equipment.Accurate record keeping.The continued education of patients.Build effective relationships with patients, doctors and other medical personnel to ensure quality patient care.RequirementsApplication needs to be registered with SANC as an Enrolled Nurse.Must have at least 2 years of experience in Theatre environment as an anaesthetic nurse.Must have good communication skills.Must have knowledge and skill on setting up of invasive lines i.e A-Line, CVP.Candidate must have knowledge and skill in assisting anaesthetist with spinal/epidural anaesthesia.Candidate to have knowledge and skill in assisting anaesthetist with ultrasound guided blocks.Must be flexible and be prepared to work shifts and in other departments when requested to do so.Must be able to work under pressure in a constantly changing environment.Must have strong customer orientation, an excellent team player.Must be very energetic, confident and knowledgeable.CompetenciesProblem-solving, analysis and judgement.Attention to detail.Resilience.Engaging diversity.Professional and technical proficiency.Excellence orientation.Building relationships.Customer responsiveness.Organisational awareness.Action orientation.Ethical behaviour.Email: ****** Closing date: Friday, September 20, 2024.
