Engineering Shop Supervisor

Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role as an Engineering Shop Supervisor located in Benoni. The Engineering Shop Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of the engineering shop, including supervising the shop floor, ensuring proper maintenance and repairs of equipment, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Duties:
Supervising and coordinating the day-to-day activities of engineering shop personnel.
Ensuring that work orders are completed on time and within budget.
Overseeing equipment maintenance and repair schedules.
Training and mentoring staff to ensure high-quality workmanship.
Implementing and enforcing safety regulations in the shop.
Collaborating with workshop, project managers, and other stakeholders to meet project requirements.
Monitoring inventory levels
Identifying areas for process improvement and implementing solutions.
Maintaining accurate records of work performed and resources consumed.
Resolving any issues or conflicts that arise among team members.
Overall, the Engineering Shop Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of the engineering shop while upholding quality standards and safety protocols.
Proven experience as a supervisor or manager in an engineering or manufacturing environment
Experience with lathe's, milling machines and CNC Plasma machines.
Sheet metal experience
Deadline and detail driven
Strong knowledge of engineering principles and practices
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams
Proficiency in technical documentation and computer-aided design (CAD) software
Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
