Provide specialist expertise in equipment vibration measurement and diagnostics.
The position will be based in Sasolburg.What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…Select new equipment to meet user specifications and ensure it is fit-for-purpose.Evaluate the condition of existing equipment and create repair procedures and reports to produce a reconditioned product that meets standards.Review and approve designs, repair procedures, drawings, and other engineering tasks to ensure accuracy and prevent errors in production.Provide engineering solutions to problems encountered by internal and external clients.Develop and maintain client relationships to promote the product range and introduce enhancements to existing equipment.Supervise the Drawings office to ensure all drawings are filed correctly and are accurate.Offer expert knowledge on plant processes as applied to the Chart product range to ensure equipment operates according to design intentions.Support Project Managers to ensure all engineering aspects on projects are fulfilled according to Chart's standards.Ensure all Quality procedures and standards are adhered to.Develop and update Engineering Department documentation (e.g., specifications, design manuals, welding procedures, software).Assist the Manufacturing section with manufacturing processes, material selection, and heat treatment procedures.Your Education Should Be…Formal tertiary qualification in mechanical engineering (HND, B-tech, BSc).Your Professional Experience Should Be…10 years experience in compressor and turbine environment.Experience in heavy engineering workshop practice.Material selection experience.Vibration course (level 2).Fatigue course.High level of written communication.Compressor and turbine performance evaluation.Chart is an equal opportunity employer...Need an accommodation with your job application or recruitment process?
