Job Summary: The incumbent will be responsible for providing high-level management and technical support to the Facilities Department.Main Responsibilities (not limited to):Ensure work planning and control of all artisans and technicians work daily.Ensure continuous improvement and optimisation of the facilities assets by analysing failure patterns and poor efficiencies, and provide a planned action plan.Develop plans for maintaining and upgrading mechanical and electrical equipment, systems and recommend replacement thereof.Maintain and compile work procedures and all related documentation for the optimisation and improvements of engineering systems.Establish priorities for scheduled mechanical and electrical services within the preventive maintenance programs, inspect equipment and systems to determine repair or replacement.Coordinate and directly supervise utility outages and the performance of emergency and routine maintenance.Maintain a safe campus environment by ensuring all fire protection systems and pumps are maintained in accordance with the applicable regulations & standards; ensure that all emergency generators/power systems are properly maintained and operational at all times.Conduct analysis regarding cost, time and impact on machinery and to ensure work is done in the most cost-effective way and according to asset management standards (ISO 55001).Ensure accurate specifications are provided on all engineering projects and to allocate resources to projects and ensure work is carried out according to specifications.Monitor installation and commissioning to ensure that equipment operates according to requirements after installation or repair.Manage team performance and ensure high performance standards, and that objectives and goals are set and achieved according to performance agreement/job profile.Develop an individual development plan for all employees in your team, and ensure that training needs are identified and submitted to HR and also ensure that training is done as per training plan and budget.Manage overall compliance to all statutory laws, by-laws and regulations relevant to the function by adhering to the risk management plan, identifying potential threats or risks to progress and proactively implement corrective action as necessary.Manage and direct compliance to ISO system, SHE requirements and OHS-Act for area under control.Be appointed as a GMR2.1 for the section and contribute to the companies HSE Committee meetings.Conduct RCM on all critical assets and conduct RCA for high-risk breakdowns and failures that may affect plant productivity.Minimum Qualifications and Experience:B.Eng. or BSc in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.Supervisory or management training.GCC certificate.5 – 8 years' experience in Facilities or Utilities Management.Knowledge and Skills:Knowledge of ERP Systems.Knowledge of Engineering Principles and Standards.Knowledge of Asset Management (ISO 55001).Health, Safety & Environment regulations.Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC).Electrical Systems.Communication skills.Dynamic Team Leadership skills.Seniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionManagement and ManufacturingIndustriesManufacturing
