The Company is an aerospace engineering and consulting services company with an extensive network of experts and industrial partners. Our small but highly qualified team of professionals develops cutting-edge solutions in aerospace, propulsion, and systems engineering.
Our core capabilities are Design, Simulation, Assembly, Integration and Testing. We are looking to expand our Avionics engineering team, with an experienced, practical, and enthusiastic Electronics Design Engineer who is also a team player.
This exciting but challenging opportunity involves electronic circuit development, which requires thorough unit, subsystem and system testing in order to satisfy functional requirements.
Responsibilities
The main duties to be performed by the successful candidate will be:
Design and develop avionics electric and electronic circuits destined for aerospace products.
Design and develop power electronic circuits for, inter alia, 3-phase BLDC electric motors.
Design and develop general analogue, digital and microprocessor electronic circuits.
Incorporate DO-160G Environmental Requirements into designs (EMI, EMC, vibration, shock etc.).
Select electronic components that comply with functional and environmental requirements.
Develop prototypes as required, in order to confirm and validate design concepts.
Design printed circuit boards according to allocated space claim inside enclosures.
Conduct thermal analyses and simulations during design, to optimise heat dissipation.
Manage procurement of printed circuit boards from qualified and certified manufacturers.
Manage population of printed circuit boards by qualified and certified vendors.
Create applicable specification and test documentation (configuration & version control).
Conduct quality and unit testing of populated circuit boards.
Establish firmware development environment suitable for C code.
Develop applicable C firmware code compliant with MISRA:C 2012 and DO-178C.
Testing C firmware code, in accordance with relevant specifications.
Participate in system and subsystem design reviews that involve developed electronic subsystems.
Transfer knowledge and experience to avionics team members as and when required.
Requirements
The following minimum qualifications, experience, skills and knowledge will be required:
Minimum B.Eng degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 3 years' work experience designing electronic circuits, focusing on power electronics.
Hands-on experience of electric and electronic prototyping.
Experience with the STM32 range of microcontrollers.
Experience with embedded C firmware code development.
In addition to the above, the following will be advantageous:
M.Eng degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering, or any other similar qualification related to electronic and electrical circuit design and development.
Prior experience in an avionics/electronic engineering environment (military and/or commercial).
Knowledge of and experience in avionics hardware certification and/or qualification.

Special working conditions
