Job ResponsibilitiesInstall, repair, and maintain electrical wiring, circuits, and fixtures in accordance with electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards.Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to plan and execute electrical installations and repairs accurately.Inspect electrical systems, components, and equipment to identify defects, faults, or malfunctions, and diagnose issues using testing equipment and tools.Troubleshoot electrical problems, such as power outages, short circuits, and voltage fluctuations, and implement corrective actions to restore functionality.Install and configure electrical systems and equipment, such as lighting fixtures, switches, outlets, circuit breakers, and electrical panels, following manufacturer specifications and guidelines.Perform preventive maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting electrical components and systems, to prevent breakdowns and ensure reliability.Test electrical systems and components for proper operation, voltage, current, and resistance, using multimeters, voltage testers, and other diagnostic tools.Collaborate with other tradespeople, contractors, and project managers to coordinate electrical work and ensure integration with other building systems and construction activities.Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations, codes, and standards, including National Electrical Code (NEC), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements, and local building codes.Install and maintain grounding systems, surge protectors, and electrical safety devices to protect against electrical hazards, shocks, and fires.Provide technical guidance and support to apprentices, helpers, or junior electricians, mentoring them in proper electrical techniques, practices, and safety procedures.Maintain accurate records of electrical work performed, including work orders, maintenance logs, and inspection reports, documenting repairs, modifications, and upgrades.Keep abreast of advancements in electrical technology, equipment, and regulations, participating in training programs, seminars, and continuing education to enhance skills and knowledge.Respond to emergency service calls, power outages, or electrical emergencies promptly, troubleshooting problems and implementing solutions to minimize downtime and disruptions.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, following proper procedures for handling tools, equipment, and hazardous materials, and adhering to safety protocols at all times.Job Type: Full-timePay: From R15000,00 per month
