Fruitways is an agri-business that specialises in the growing, packing and marketing of apples and pears to retailers, traders and wholesalers around the globe.
  ELECTRICIAN        We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrician to join our world class and dynamic packing environment.
Reporting to the Maintenance Technician, the ideal candidate needs to have a technical problem-solving approach and the ability to work independently in the packhouse, cold rooms and refrigeration plant room.
Based at our Melpack packhouse in the Vyeboom area as part of the engineering team.
Responsibilities: Effective implementation & execution of a preventative maintenance program.
Ensure compliance with relevant electrical standards and specifications.
Supervise and allocate work to assistant based on operational requirements.
Manage the availability and effective use of tools and equipment and ensure proper maintenance.
Evaluate and measure productivity and quality work of subordinates.
Lead and motivate employees to perform optimally.
Co-ordinate and control critical electrical parts and accessories to ensure sufficient availability, effective application and minimum wastage.
Record daily activities/orders, maintain job cards and schedule tasks in the maintenance management system.
Minimize risk through maintaining and monitoring security measures required to protect company assets and employees.
Ensure work is done according to safe working procedures and the OHS act Identify potential risk related to area of responsibility and rectify immediately within given guidelines.
Maintain and upkeep of 11kV Distribution network Ad hoc work in cold stores – electrical maintenance, upkeep panels, testing motors.
Requirements: Minimum N3 Electrical Certificate Electrical Trade Test as Electrician ORHVS Certified – Operating Regulations for High Voltage Systems.
Minimum 8 years' experience.
Good understanding of the OHS Act & SANS 101-42 Willing to work overtime and perform standby duties Good interpersonal skills Thorough understanding of VFD & SS starter as well as PLC applications Wireman`s License highly advantageous Cat A ammonia registration highly advantageous Please note that the position will be filled in alignment with the Groups Employment Equity requirements.
