Electrical Technician X4 (12 Months Fixed Term Contract)

Job Advert Summary
Responsible for the assisting the Section Engineer on the following work: Preventative Maintenance, ad-hoc Maintenance, and Project management to meet the specified standards. Reporting problems to the Section Senior Technician.
Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 and S4 or N6 in Electrical (H/C) Engineering.
A National Diploma in Electrical (H/C) Engineering will be advantages.
Electrician trade test certificate
4 years' relevant work experience within a similar environment
Code 10 driver's license.
Knowledge of OSHA and safe working procedures

Primary Duties

Inspections on the Electrical Equipment's i.e., cables, motors, transformers, lights, motor control circuits (MCC), generators, Low and Medium distribution boxes (DB's) etc.
Preventative Maintenance and fault finding on the Electrical Equipment's including Standby Generator's.
Assisting on Breakdowns and ad-hoc work.
Installing, commissioning and Monitoring of Electrical equipment's
Compile Maintenance Report
Assist on ensuring that health and safety adhere to it.
Assist with maintenance planning and scheduling

Knowledge

Electrical Maintenance
Safety knowledge (OHSA and Regulations
Basic understanding of Water and Sanitation Infrastructure i.e., Pipeline network, Pump Stations, and Treatment Works Plants.
Basic understanding of Electrical Equipment's such as Cables, Lighting system, VSD, Soft starter, Flow sensor, PLC's, Circuit breaker, electrical motors, motor pumps.
Knowledge of welding.

Skills

Ability to conduct Electrical repairs.
Good communication skills (verbal).
Interpret electrical and design drawings.
Ability to compile maintenance report.
Electrical Troubleshooting.
Good housekeeping skills.
Able to work under pressure
MS office proficiency
