Duties & ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities Do market and product research on new factories to be added to the Company's Database of suppliers of goods and services the company trades with.Do research into the costing and pricing models used by producers and stay abreast of developments in the market regarding metal and other commodity prices, as well as new products in the energy sector.Travel within Africa, China, and India to do Factory Evaluations, including evaluations of their production capacity, technical competence, product compliance, and quality of technical knowledge.Negotiate contracts including price, delivery, product specification, and compliance and prepare data for submission in tenders.Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing and/or third-party technical evaluation of products prior to contractual deliveries.Liaise with factories, transporters, and shipping and clearing agents in order to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials.Non-Negotiable RequirementsNon-negotiable requirements for consideration: Must live within close proximity to Fourways as this is a permanent, onsite position.Electrical Engineering Qualification is essential. Minimum National Diploma but preference for completed Bachelor's degree.Minimum 2 years demonstrated work experience as an Electrical Engineer.Practical field experience on a mine or electrical plant is highly preferred.Additional RequirementsMust be excited by the prospect of traveling abroad and being in a commercial role in which technical knowledge is key to success. The role requires the ability to engage with people with the aim of building relationships with current and new suppliers.Attention to detail and capacity to do highly organized administrative work is a must.
