A company based in Pretoria East is hiring an Electrical Engineer to work on a diverse range of projects in the public & private sector.The candidate will lead and manage several projects and will be the primary liaison between the client and the engineering team.
(in some instances)Duties:Develop designs for MV and LV electrical infrastructure, particularly building services and site reticulationUndertake technical and financial feasibility studies and site investigationsConduct condition assessments of existing electrical infrastructure and related systemsCompile, review and approve documentation including drawings, reports, bills of quantities and specificationsProvide technical advice and use sound engineering principles to identify and evaluate alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problemsLead, manage and oversee teams of engineers, both internal and from other firms and organizationsEnsure compliance with company design standards and document control proceduresEnsure adequate and effective communication between clients, professional design teams and contractorsManage client expectationsManage contractors and inspect construction sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and regulatory standardsManage budgets and other project resourcesAssess potential risks on projects and undertake risk managementAssist in developing, updating and maintaining departmental standards and policies relating to electrical engineering designMaintain professional and technical knowledge by reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and benchmarking best practicesContribute towards building the companys electrical engineering capabilities in terms of MV/LV design, infrastructure development and energy managementRequirements:Minimum of 2 years experience post-graduationBEng (Electrical) or BSc Electrical Engineering degreeRegistered as a PrEng / close to professional registrationSkills:Ability to write concise, effective engineering reportsFamiliarity with national standards applicable to MV and LV systemsExperience in design, simulation and documentation of electrical infrastructure and MV / LV distributionCompulsory Requirements:AutoCADRevit MEPSchneider Ecodial Relux / DiaLuxETAP, ReticMaster, DigiSILENTAbility to identify and act on business development opportunities within own field of expertise as well as other fields & disciplinesWorking conditions:Multi-disciplinary engineering firmThe candidate will be required to travel regularly, mostly within South Africa (typical once a week for one or two days at a time)Permanent contractPlease note that only candidates with the required experience will be considered and contacted.
