COMPANY DESCRIPTION: Our client, a manufacturer, supplier and installer of specialist equipment, is looking for an Electrical Draughting and Cost Engineer to join their team.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Price/forecast the cost of the different materials needed for the project. Prepare tender documents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities, BOM and other documentation. Track changes to the design and/or projects and adjust budget projections accordingly. Measure and value the work done on site. Liaise with the client, site managers, project managers and site engineers. Select and/or source project materials. Write reports. Undertake relevant research and advise on alternatives. Analyse and interpret data, and able to do costing based on this. Assist projects departments outside of Engineering when required. Perform other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient, effective functioning of the work unit and successful completion of projects. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Grade 12 Electrical Engineering Degree or equivalent Professional certification as a listed Electrical Engineer (ECSA) EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: At least 3 years' experience in a similar position Able to do HVAC design from first principles Construction estimating or Finance experience advantageous Exceptional in AutoCAD Rivet Thorough knowledge of all Electrical practices, methods, equipment, materials and tools Able to do costing for approval by Project Manager and Engineering Manager based on designs Able to read designs and produce and prepare draft designs in accordance with required specifications, including draughting Thorough knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the work at hand Ability to plan and supervise the work of the project team in their duties Good communication skills: Fluent in English Ability to provide verbal and/or written technical instructions Methodical way of thinking Good knowledge of projects Excellent problem-solving skills Good financial and numeracy management skills Excellent communication and negotiating skills The ability to absorb complex information and assess requirements readily Computer literate, good working knowledge of MS Excel and the ability to learn how to use specialist software Valid driver's license and passport TO APPLY FOR THE POSITION, PLEASE FOLLOW THE LINK BELOW: Application Link POPIA By submitting your CV, you confirm that:
