EHS ManagerPurpose: Support the Site Manager to establish an EHS management system and strong safety culture.GoalsSupport plant leadership in preventing all work-related injuries and illnesses as well as environmental harm.Consultant for plant managers, superintendents, and all leaders.Support plant leadership in establishing a safe & environmentally friendly work environment.Definition of site regulation and communication to all site members.Ensure compliance via auditing that Site, Company, and local regulations.Offer solutions and support action implementation regarding the work environment.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the fulfillment of the tasks assigned to him/her.Responsible for his/her professional advice.Authority to have equipment shut down if safety, health, or the environment are endangered.Assist the Operations/Location Managers during an emergency situation in coordination/direct communication with plant management, staff positions, or their representatives.Facilitate/lead HAZOP / LOPA / hazard / risk assessment team meetings.Main TasksManage location safety and health activities (training, inspections, audits, as well as internal and external reporting).Conduct internal inspections and audits and assist in coordinating external inspections and audits.Analyze, review, and report location trends (audits, injuries, incidents, etc.) and monitor safety performance.Advise management of safety and health issues, providing location managers with guidance and assistance.Participate on location safety and health committee as a technical consultant/advisor.Provide technical support (if and when required).Assist in auditing new or revised equipment.Assist line management in recognizing hazards and risks.Develop material and assist in training.Assist in the orientation and training of new colleagues.Assist with incident investigation.Stay up-to-date with regulatory developments, best practices, etc.Develop and maintain positive relationships with key contacts.Support, promote, and review the completion of safety information requirements to be entered in the company safety database (Incidents and near misses investigation, audits, inspections, corrective actions tracking process, etc.).Model the core values with regard to safety: integrity, respect, excellence, resourcefulness, teamwork, and responsibility.QualificationsRelevant National Safety Management Diploma or study towards this OHS Act & Regulations Training and Certification.Relevant ExperienceA recognized Health & Safety Qualification.Educated to degree level (Health and Safety, Engineering) or the proven ability to operate at that standard.5+ years' experience in a similar role in a Production/Manufacturing Environment.Experience or an understanding of Mechanical & Electrical Engineering processes & procedures.Knowledge of combustible dust hazards and Hazard Area Classification.Experience with Method Statements, Risk Assessments, and Permit to Work Systems.A recognized Environmental qualification is preferred.EHS Compliance and auditing experience.Skills:Analytical skills.Performance and results-oriented.Systems Skills (Palladium, PromTek, SharePoint).Administrative skills.Computer skills.Ability to work under pressure.Effective communicator (internal & external).Time management.Problem solving.Compliance driven (SOP).Functional Leadership.Relationship building.Personal:Disciplined, focused, structured.Attention to detail.Responsibility.Team player.Assertive.Inquisitive.High level of initiative.Continuous improvement mindset.Adaptability.
